  2. Dang, I didn't even need to see the actual post. I was guffawing as soon as I saw the title in my RSS reader...

But Cynthia? Please reconsider the internet access part.

  3. I was keen for the isolation, but the lack of internet facility makes it solitude, so I lost interest.

  4. Would consider renovation?!!? Oh now you know that every Bhutanese estate agent is rubbing his hands with glee.

  5. from the last photo MrsM may have inbuilt yakking facilities so solitude it ain't.

  6. If you are not yet fluent in Dzongkha, a useful phrase when you relocate might be Tashi delek. It roughly translates as "auspicious blessings of the radiant Buddha nature and complete and unfailing happiness to you". I think that means "Hello".

  10. Dear Cynthia, I do like your new house. Very much. I see that our dear friend Jackie gave us instructions on how to make one. A tutorial, if you will. Perhaps a self-build, then. Circumvent the estate agents! Hurrah! A DIY internet-free village.

p.s. What's the weather like in Bhutan today?

  15. Dear Cynthia,
Do they wear gilets in Bhutan?
You might have to take MissM with you for sartorial advice.

P.S. The W.V. is zynado (does this tell me something- xanadu perhaps?)

  17. Okay, I could go without the internet access provided I had a - let's call him a Steward - to come and provide daily updates of the world outside.

  18. Ha, this post reminds me of a few years ago when buying up French shacks to fix up was quite the thing amongst our friends and neighbours. My son, then three years old, announced on viewing the fixer-upper just purchased by some friends announced, "this is where the cows sleep".

  19. Hmmm. I'm laughing about the sock man. I do think he should be consulted. But isn't that yurt amazing? It would be like living on the moon! Except you know we would all come and visit. I think.
