Fruiting Ivy

I am in the grip of a major obsession at the moment.
It is the season for fruiting ivy and I can't resist it.

The memory card is full.

My dog thinks that I am mad
and strolls on in an embarassed 'I'm not with her' kind of way.

My husband has developed a patient
'I hope she grows out of this really soon' face.

My children refuse to walk with me.

It is so tempting

sculptural globes,
milky matt surface,
dark green lustrous leaves.

And so difficult to capture.

Oh, and did I mention that it mainly grows in dark places.

I just have to face up to it, move on, let it go.

But, on the other hand,
if I go out tomorrow
I might, just maybe,
get the ultimate shot.

I don't think I've ever seen those before! Beautiful!

I made K trim the hedge for this morning's shot.
He had a resigned look on his face as he stood in his robe...

Come to my garden - we have masses of it! We used ivy on all our wedding placecards and invitations. Hours and hours of stencilling ... well, it was the 90s.
