Master M's Oak Tree

Let me introduce MasterM's Oak Tree.

When he was five he brought home an acorn in the pocket of his little grey shorts and we planted it.

It grew quickly and soon it was taller than him.

But then it stopped and now he is taller than it.

Like all important projects the responsibility is shared.

He is responsible for The Idea and General Strategy and I am responsible for Day to Day Management i.e. watering.

He checks his tree assiduously and we all know that if there is a water shortage the last drop must go to The Tree.

I tell him that sometimes you have to let things go so that they can reach their full potential.

And he says "You will water it when I am in Australia this summer..."

He can't be tall/old enough to go to Australia!

He is 17 and six foot. How could this happen? Well, obviously I was a child bride...

Awe, so there's the tree. It's nice to have visuals to the stories you've told me. What will he be doing in Australia?

oh no....I can't bear that they grow up...even if they are just as lovely (in other ways). What a lovely thing to focus on while he is away though.x
