What is there to do on a sunny Sunday in Dublin?
You can stroll along endless Georgian terraces
and admire the front doors.
You can take in a free art exhibition
and find a sunny spot in St. Stephen's Green.
The world goes by if you stand still and watch.
Lunch could be Wild Mushroom Bruschetta in a friendly cafe;
and how about an afternoon in the National Gallery,
among Irish heroes,
among Irish heroes,
then you could follow the Grand Canal back to your hotel.
Of course, there are lots of other things that you could do
But that is what we did.

It looks truly splendid. We've never been to Dublin; if and when we do, I shall know who to ask for tourist advice!
Hope you had a wonderful trip.
Bizarrely as I checked bloglines a Magpie began to sing in the back garden. And there was your updated blog!
I love that photo of the magnolias - all soft pinks and greys (on my screen anyway).
But all the photos would seem to indicate a good time was had by both of you!
Thank you for bringing me.
Lovely! And not at all how I imagined Dublin to be - although I'm not sure how exactly I did imagine it to be.
How absolutley delightful. I wish I could be there. My Brother in Law is in Bublin right now, for the first time ever, for a 2 night business meeting. I could not beleive he flew all that way from Australia without planning some down time.
It looks gorgeous.
Sounds like a lovely time was had by both --- hope that it was a really lovely birthday celebration:-)

A very good choice for lunch!
It looks like a peaceful way to spend a birthday getaway.
I'm with Fairlie - you found more tranquility in Dublin than I would have expected.
Indeed, thanks for sharing. I have never been to Ireland. It is on the BIG LIST.
What a lovely tour, thank you. I've never been, but it looks wonderful.
looks like you had a great time, thanks for taking lots of photos for us.
