When I woke up I thought:
Today I will make flapjacks
because it is cold
because MasterM likes them
because I have not made them for a long time.
And I thought about it all day
But I kept putting it off
because I thought I didn't have enough time
and there were more important things to do
And when I finally made them
at 9.45pm it took 5 minutes.
Flapjacks are No Big Deal.
And I cut them into bar shapes
because that is what my mother does.

In Tuvalu, flapjacks are pancakes - so now I must look them up!
I thought they were pancakes too, but they look like museli bars. If they take five minutes and look that good, then I need to know about them too!
Dang it, first the scones and now this. *Sigh* (drool) *Sigh*
Oh how I wish N was here. I would make them and she would protest that they were ridiculous, but then she would eat them.
She was home, but now has gone back and I am sadder than ever.
Sniff.
(I'm actually okay. But a little sad.)
Yep, flapjacks are a quick and easy fix in our house too - even the kids will set to and make them if there's nothing much interesting for their lunchboxes the next morning - we generally make two trays at a time, one plain and one with chocolate hunks on the top! I have to say our trade secret is the ready cut out layer of Lakeland's Magic carpet which lines the bottom of each tin to make subsequent removal a piece of cake - if you'll excuse the pun :o)
Now I know what to make for lunchboxes this week. I might even have some dried cranberries lurking about - oh, wait, then I'll be the only one who will eat them. Oh well ;-)
Obviously the notion of flapjacks was in the ether yesterday. I mulled it over from about 9'o'clock yesterday morning, unlike you however I didn't actually make some. *le sigh* perhaps today.....
Yes there needs to a recipe/translation thingy happening here - and I will look them up too else you think me waaaay too lazy.
I've never made flapjack and yet I love them? are they really easy? do you have a recipe?
And they're delicious!
Now I want to make flapjacks... but I must get my oven fixed first!
Wow--those look more like granola bars to me--you are going to post this recipe, right? I'm hungry!
Hello there Alice...mmm flapjacks are one of my favourite treats... they look scrumptious. My number one girl would scoff those up in seconds... she's have to race me though.
Happy December
with love Ginny xx
