Welcome to 2009

New Year's Eve, 2008
Skaters outside the Natural History Museum.

We spent the morning in London
with my brother and his wonderful wife
who are expecting their first baby in February.
2009 will be a very special year for them.

Whatever your plans and hopes for the New Year
I wish you success and happiness.

And, even now, I am envious - as you are just a bit ahead of us and I so look forward to leaving 2008 behind...
happy New Year, dear friend.

How wonderful that I am reading your post now, at 10:36 pm EST, and it is dated January 1, 2009. It is the FIRST TIME I have seen the date in real time. I am honored!!! Best to you and yours.

Happy New Year!

The ice-skating looks fun. We had a balmy night close to Sydney harbour. Lovely.
