The Educational Value of Boxed Sets

"Sharpe" is family viewing here at ChezMagpie
and we all enjoy it for different reasons:

MrM likes military history
MasterM is revising for his Spanish A Level
MissM observes the costumes

And before you even dare to ask...

MrsM appreciates the scenery.

There is obviously a lot to learn. Take your time.

It is an amazing series, isn't it.
But I think I love it best for the theme music, of all things. I found it quite haunting, a simple song, eventually to become a nursery rhyme, taut with death and honor, misery and glory.

Oh yes, a couple of summers ago we stayed up night after night watching one episode after another of Sharpe well into the small hours, it was just too hot to sleep and well as you say "the scenery"..

Personally I am currently enjoying the scenery in early episodes of Shameless on 4OD. Oh dear, oh dear.
