I have been so grateful for your kind, thoughtful comments over the past two weeks. It made me wonder anew at the power of blogging. Each one of you has been so encouraging to MasterM as he set out on his travels and so perceptive in your support for me. It is so much easier to stand at the cliff edge when you have friends beside you. Thank you.
It dawned on me that I have been reading blogs for 2 years now and so I have been dipping in and out of other lives for quite a while. Watching children grow, people heal and projects blossom. Little by little, all of you have become so familiar that I keep a part of my mind to wonder how you and your families are and to think of those of you who for one reason or another are meeting new challenges.
And I suppose that you feel the same about my family.
So I thought that you might like to know that MasterM has landed safely:
I am now in Lima... I think I might just go to Cusco tomorrow though if I can because I dont want to miss out on Machu Pichu, and I might be able to squeeze some other stuff in afterwards...
One less thing for us all to worry about.

Gosh - there he is, with his socks...all on his own....
I'm chewing my nails over here whilst waiting for Middle's college letter - and I too feel like you are with me through it!
Glad to know he's safe and sound.
He gets around, doesn't he?
N.
We presume from the lack of panic in his note that his luggage met him at the airport and those socks are safely with their master - lucky boy, Machu Pichu - my colleague at work has always had the dream to visit, they have the funds, the time and the inclination but she has chronic asthma and her lungs would not stand the altitude.
Happy travelling MasterM, an adventure indeed.
I'm still doing my big catch up so haven't been around to fret over MasterM's travel preparations.
But I am mightily pleased to hear that he's arrived safely.
(Word verif is ADRYSESS and I hope he has provided you with one so you can send him more socks).
I am hoping that when Master M returns he will write wonderful memoirs entitled "travels with my socks"
glad he's there safe.
Tell him to get acclimitised to the altitude first, Machu Pichu can prove bit of a shock to thoses of us who live just a little above sea level.
Oh I love "squeeze in some other stuff"! How exciting! It's lovely that techology can keep us together - not just yourself and MasterM, but the rest of us too.
All those places we all say - "I'll go there one day." - and there he is, your boy, living instead of thinking about it.
he's quite a guy...
What a year he is having - and I think this may be the most incredible part potentially....
So glad he landed safely!!
glad his feet are safely on the ground again even if he is planning to go take his head up to the clouds!
Safe and sound...now, just make sure to check his bags for fried grasshoppers when he gets home! :)
Oh I am so glad he made it safly! I have bee thinkig about it often. Like you thigs like that pass through my head every day here and there.
I am so very excited about Master M's trip. I studied Art History in College and have always thought machu pichu would be so beautiful in real life!
Isn't techology woderful?
Glad he made it safely. What an adventurous young man, and what a lovely time it sounds like he's having. I've always wanted to go to Peru. Lucky him! x
Phew!
(And nice of him to let you know he's there.)
Just to moderate expectations ... there is a very low chance of MasterM writing a blog whilst in S America
He is insured for cat B put hopefully will not need to claim. After the paperwork I had to put together for MissM's camera dropped in a rockpool in Mozambique in August ...
Master M is SO cool. I am in awe.
I can't wait to hear if MasterM had mystical experiences at Machu Picchu. Or just elevation sickness.
Lovely to hear he has arrived safely. Looking forward to tales of his adventures.
I don't know how I've managed to miss so many of your posts until now. I am quite weepy reading them all at once now.
(Just tell Master M to keep his valuables tight to his chest when sitting in cafes in Buenos Aires)
Alice, you know you have such dear friends because you are one awesome, generous human being yourself. And I don't say that lightly. I would gladly stand beside you on the highest cliff edge.
Lx
