MrM has now recovered
from stepping over the threshold into Blogland
and would like to offer the following advice
to other Blog Husbands
1. Bloggers CAN be normal people.
2. Try not to think about the fact that this person
whom you have never met
knows ALL about you.
3. Do NOT prejudge the Husbands of Bloggers,
it is not their fault they have married a Blogger.
They share your suffering.
4. Do NOT ask Husbands of Bloggers
if they have a blog too.
The answer is always NO!!!
5. Do NOT attempt to talk to quilting artists about quilting
they probably know more about it than you do.
6. Photographs of feet are NOT compulsory.
7. Be KIND to your wife's Blogging friends...
they keep her sane.

I was thinking I'd forward this post to K and then I realized that he had a house full of us this summer.
He stepped over the threshold??? And you didn't tell us?
N.
Chortling at #2 and nodding gravely at #7. Incidentally, I'm thinking of making a handy chart for the dining room so my husband can refer to it when I'm prattling on at breakfast about This Blog Friend and That Blog Friend. He gets a wee bit confused...
MrM has to report that one of the unexpected outcomes of his conversation is that I feel that I have received a tutorial on the best way of controlling the cane toad population. A judicious mix of hockey stick and Dettol spray would be my preferred options.
On being asked whether I had a blog myself I was pleased to provide the reassurance that I too had someone to take of this chore for me but added that it seemed to keep MrsM happy.
How was I to know that PP was a quilting expert ?
Very funny! I think my husband and M's could add a few items to MrM's list after they went to Blue Mountains Mary's surprise party!
My husband very nearly came to my bookgroup the other night. "But I enjoyed the book too!" he wailed. Hmmmm.
If ever cane toads invade the continent MrM will become the immediate eradication expert based on the advice of my husband. Not sure if that fact makes me proud or quite afraid...
The quilt legend is a lovely one and, like the tooth fairy, it is true for those who believe it!
V. funny!
My husband's reaction to bloggers is "They are a breed apart, do not try to understand them" I think it may be a quote from Last of the Mohicans (the Danile Day Lewis film).
That is a very good list Mrs M.
I am going to encourage Fairlie and M's husbands to add to this list ..
they did such a sterling job of standing up for us bloggers!
That's hilarious! When I was in the UK I met a 'blog friend'. Lyndon didn't want to as he felt like it was crossing the line. A bit 'too weird' for him to meet up with a total stranger. I don't think of fellow bloggers as strangers...
We had realised either that a shared interest in Bushtuckerman aka Major Les Hiddens would prove so useful. Top bloke as was MrPP.
Have just added large bottle of Dettol to the next shopping list. Semper paratus has to be our motto !
My hubby is always saying that a support group for blog-widowers would be a very good thing.
That notwithstanding, he's been completely enchanted the bloggers he's met (but you knew that).
Such wonderful advice which I shall pass on to Mr Fan my Flame!
My husband leaves me to get on with my bogging and gives the odd grunt when I ask him to look at my postings - then he finds lots of spelling mistakes - thank goodness I have a supportive daughter who shares the same interests as I and loves to take a peek into the lives of other like-minded craftilicious ladies (as she likes to call them)
All very true. My hubby reads my blog everyday :) Not by request just because. He often gives out compliments about it too.
I like #'s 4,5,6 and 7.
Methinks Mr M is a wise man :o)
Number 6!
PS. Bloggers should look after their husbands and gently introduce them to the mysteries of blogging because if their husband outlives them, he needs to know how to publish 'The Last Post'.
8. Be KIND to your wife's blogging friends...they may have friends who have friends with baseball bats.
9. At a party do not assume that all the friends of your wife's blogging friends KNOW she has a blog. Be discreet and, if necessary, have a backup story as to why you are there...
