Christmas Cards

One of my quiet pleasures at Christmas
is arranging the cards as they arrive.

I stick them to our door frames
and they make the house look instantly festive.
I love to make the arrangement pleasing to the eye
and so I try to balance colour, size and theme.

Every year we get a few cards that are extra special:

This was from one of the Little Girl Cousins.

This was from a friend who has just become a grandmother.

Sometimes I keep very special ones from previous years.

I love this image of a house...
it captures the dream of the perfect Christmas home.

I bought this one because the design appealed to me.
I would have used it for my own cards
if there had been more than one box left in the shop.

Instead, it is my virtual card to you

I wish you all a peaceful Christmas
full of quiet pleasures and happy memories
.

What a lovely Christmas Card..thank you. One of the highlights of my year has been getting to know all my blog friends.
May you have Christmas as perfect as your blog.
(I shove all the cards in a box because they always arrive long before I even write any, when I am still in denial of Christmas, and I can't cope with the guilt)and as I type my husband is on 'stick em up' duty)

Thank you for sharing these cards with us dear Alice. I am so moved by this post. You have managed to meld the personal with the global so beautifully (actually, I think that is the exquisite characteristic of your blog throughout the entire year).

I wish you and your entire Magpie nest a very merry Christmas,

With all my love,

Eleanor xxxx

GettingChristmas cards is my favorite part of the holiday. No one else is alwed to open them in my house so I can open them up eveyday. It is like a little gift you get to open up everyday! Visit me over at my blog for your card!

Merry Christmas Alice - the pleasures here are unlikely to be quiet, but will be many nonetheless.

May the magpie household be full of joy.

Thank you, I love that card.

In summer here there is always a big breeze which blows all the christmas cards down the hallway, so I will treasure yours as the only one which won't blow away!

Wishing you love, light and joy, now and always. Thank you for your words and pictures, they never fail to make me happy.
