Lavender

If you look carefully you will see patches of blue

- the lavender fields of the Luberon -

Come closer and the air is heady with fragrance

and oscillating with the noise of bees.

There were tall lavender bushes beside the path
in the garden of the house where I grew up.

I had forgotten about the noise of the bees.

To stand in a place that is filled with lavender is one of my dreams. What a beautiful sight!

It is wonderful, how sounds & smells can instantly sweep us back to our childhoods.

I just love that smell. I feel like I am standing in the field myself! Such beautiful pictures.

We were there just after the harvest - it's nice to see the blooms on the plants.
Such a place...

Love the fragrance of lavender. There's just nothing quite like it. These pictures are truly lovely.

This reminds me that when my ship comes in, I want to do one of those aromatherapy tours of Provence...
