Newsflash.....The Blue Sky closes.....major attack of nostalgia in ChezMagpie.....no more electric orange sweet'n'sour chicken.....no more greeting by uber-camp thin guy.....no more sideways glances at very fat lady in corner.....no more plastic red fascia.....no more ruched net curtains.....no more mysterious menu sellotaped to window.....no more Eat As Much As You Can Buffet.....no more Fortune Cookies.....no more 'Boo Ska'.....MissM (16) says: 'It is all our fault. We should have eaten there more.'

I felt the same when 'Maxims', our lovely localish ch. t/away closed. It was your fault! hahahahahaha I crease myself up :-)
I think our local Indian is going the same way. Mind you, it's rubbish so it will be no loss ;-)
Perhaps they are renovating!
Our town of 8,000 souls boasts no fewer than three such establishments. I'm pretty sure that the whole appeal lies in the All You Care To Eat rather than in the Chinese-ishness. We stopped going after too many encounters with Mystery Meat in the vegetarian entrees.
I agree with Miss M.
What a shame I may miss out on that experience if I visit!
Sad about your sweet-n-sour chicken. Perhaps there are just too many 'takeaways' sold at the supermarkets.
I missed your past post - it's gorgeous! I love a good market. I quite fancy some of those espadrilles. Stripey ones like that cost a fortune from Toast or similar.
it's the only restaurant I've been to where one had to carry out a risk assessment first. Had a certain character and charm though.
At one point it was v exotic to MasterM and MissM but now that they have seen a lot more of the world ...
Silverpebble - a "carry oot" at this establishment was for customers who did not make it
That's terrible...but it is a good post!
I hate losing places like that --- restaurants or stores --- our local Thai restaurant burned down two years ago, and we've been waiting and waiting for its replacement to open.
I like MrM's "had to carry out a risk assessment" comment!
