Imagine that it is October
and you walk out into
a perfect autumn afternoon.
The air is still
so that the leaves barely flutter
and the light, warm and golden,
is low behind the great trees
creating long, angled shadows.
The last flowers of summer
glow in sheltered places
and you see the places that you love
as though for the first time.
Yesterday was such a day.

I could say that it was like that here too but it would diminish the beauty of this post.
It make sme feel perfectly peaceful to look at these images.
So beautiful!
Lovely. It reminds me of the view of Keble College from University Park in Oxford, or Christchurch from the meadow. I feel like this often when I walk through Oxford. xx
Lovely pictures Alice. It sounds like a good day.
Our weather has been just like this latly. It's prettier there though.
Wasn't it a lovely day? We spent it in the Botanic Gardens which may bring back some memories for you too!
Beautiful. Makes me *quite* homesick.

Captivating photos, Alice. The scenery isn't wasted on your photographic eye. Fall in England looks marvelous.
you write the most beautiful postings - you should be published!

The words accompanying the beautiful photos are as evocative as the pictures themselves
Wow - that is a beautiful campus.
I am late here but it does not lessen my appreciation of this beauty..
