Mince Pies

My mother makes the best mince pies in the world.

Her secret ingredient is vinegar.

I can't compete so I use a different recipe.

My secret ingredient is orange rind.

Shame on you for giving away family secrets. These recipes have enormous commercial value. The one for treacle tart recently changed hands for over £500.
As punishment, the secret ingredient for barbecue sauce will only be revealed posthumously!

I see that they are served up on Christmas plates!

vinegar! wow I had no idea that increased the value of a recipe so much.
I hate to be a traitor to the best mince pies in the world, but I like the sound of orange rind better

The very idea of vinegar - even a smidge in secret, curls my hair. Now, orange rind I can get behind.
