Le déjeuner sur l'herbe

It is a weekend of cloudless skies.

The roses have started to bloom
and we sit in the shade of the cherry tree,
drinking chilled white wine,
and remembering the delights of
a small courtyard restaurant in Provence.

For a few hours
everyday life
can be forgotten.

I wish I was seated next to you with a chilled glass in my hand--about to partake in that lovely salad and enjoy some conversation!

You see - you were dreading this term and the hectic workload - then the sun comes out and slots in weekends of respite like this one - just enough to see you through the madness at work

Oh, that looks delicious. (Better than twigs, that's for sure.)

Sounds wonderful! I enjoyed a glass or two this weekend as well. Caught up on some reading too. Lots of sunshine here in my corner of the world.
