A posy from the garden

for my daughter.

My mother always leaves a tiny posy for me
when I go home.
Yesterday, when I picked these flowers
I thought of her
and hoped that,
one day,
my daughter will do the same.

Is that the posy plate?

We picked one yesterday too, or rather Johnny did, while I sneezed. He is quite the florist, it seems.

What a lovely idea. And of course you do need a posy plate :) K x

Lovely Alice - with lily of the valley too! I love the white aqualegia - one of my favourites. MissM is a lucky girl - I expect she will do exactly the same should she have a daughter. These things stay in the consciousness x

Those white aquilegia are beautiful - crystal clear

These really are so much more my thing than the blousy blooms I arranged in church last week. Lovely.
Thank you. The flowers in our garden are keeping their heads down and tightly shut until the weather warms up.

Very lovely. I think I shall do the same for my two when they are away at school and playgroup tomorrow. And perhaps one for myself as well!

I am sure she will be as thoughtful and loving as her Mum!

Quit often Alice your posts move me to tears so swiftly and unexpectedly, how DO you DO that??? One image and three sentences and I am blubbing.

My mum does exactly this too, many times as a student I remember travelling back after a home visit, 9hrs by National Express coach to my digs clutching a little posy of garden flowers with their stems wrapped in wet kitchen towel and tin foil.

I will, without a doubt, do this for my daughter too, and try not to cry at the same time.
Sweet beyond words
