Alice,
I don't want to worry you
but...
the invigilators have not arrived.
Could you phone the exams office?
Wait a minute!
Why is that candidate walking out of the building?
What do you mean - the invigilators are lost?
I am going to go back and reassure the other candidate.
He's gone!
This is a disaster...
we have no invigilators and no candidates.
Phone the exams office
but don't tell them
we have lost the candidates.
Ah! Here is an invigilator...
I am afraid that you will not be in the room
on the schedule because the computer centre
set up the computer in the other room.
I am afraid that we don't have a candidate either.
Ah! Here is a candidate.
Oh dear - it is the other candidate
and his invigilator is still missing.
I am going to walk around the building
and see if I can spot anyone who looks lost.

Some candidates have special arrangements
for their exams which take account
of particular challenges that they face.
These students are in individual examination rooms
and may have computer equipment or a note-taker.
This year we have a number of candidates
with special examination arrangements
including a finalist with cerebral palsy.

I had to look up "invigilator." I discovered that I am one. Cool.
Invigilator is such a great word.
Rounding them and the candidates up though sounds like similar to herding cats.
Ugh, I don't envy you the task of sorting out that. Stress and being lost don't often make a happy combination!
I don't know about Magpie Files - today your blog should be renamed 'Mother Hen Files' - good job they have you to organise them all
I hope you managed to sort them all out Alice and the candidates managed to sit their exams!
sounds like an Arnie movie
The Invigilator - I shall return !
or the Spanish exam or inquisition version:
Hasta la vista baby !
Stressful for you, but I for one am glad these facilities are available. x
Oh Alice I do love your work related posts, you must be such fun to work with.
"Phone the exams office

priceless
I always panic that I'm going to the wrong room - thank goodness there are always at least 200 other people going to the same place as me, including my housemate!
xx
